Ukulele Workshop to be offered in Coyle

Singer/songwriter, Jean Mann, is planning a return trip to Coyle in the next few months and has kindly offered to create a Ukulele Workshop for beginners.

What: Ukulele Workshop: A class suitable for beginners of all ages.

When: Possible date: Saturday February 6, 2016 (but other times and dates would be considered if more convenient for the majority.)

Where: Laurel B Johnson Community Center

Cost: $35

Includes learning materials, including songs and chord chart.

Please bring a ukulele and a sack lunch. (If you don’t currently have a ukulele, one can be provided for the day.)

The following time plan is approximate:
10:30 meet and greet
10:45 – 12:00 Class begins!
tuning ukuleles
learning to read chords in sheet music/books
We’ll learn simple strum patterns and chord transitions,
with time for individual attention for each participant.
12-12:30 break for lunch together
12:30 – 1:10pm
review of chords and strum patterns, playing songs together.
1:15-1:30 a short concert by Jean and goodbyes.

In order to solidify these plans we need your input. How many of you would be interested in coming to a beginner’s ukulele class?
What would be the most convenient time for you to attend a class: weekday or weekend, mid-day or evening? Please let us know what would work best for you. We will let you know more details as they develop. Thank you.
