TWO farm Tours coming up Saturday and Sunday, Sept 14th and 15th

We are so lucky around here to have so many local small farms and artisan food producers! Farms on these wonderful tours are located in and around Port Townsend, Marrowstone Island, Discovery Bay, Chimacum, Port Ludlow, Quilcene, and Brinnon.

11th Annual Jefferson County Farm Tour

Sunday, September 15th ONLY

Experience working farms and connect with local farmers. Over 20 commercial farms will open their gates and offer tours. You’ll see farm animals; cheese making and other demonstrations; take part in apple tastings; learn about shellfish farming; listen to live music and entertainment and so much more. Many farms will host food vendors serving locally inspired dishes.

The Port Townsend Food Coop, Chimacum Corner Farmstand, and the Quilcene Village Store will serve as information hubs for this tour. Be sure to drop to pick up the Farm Tour Guide, maps of participating farms, and find carpool companions.

Make the rounds of the Farm Tour by bicycle as part of the Edible Pedal, a co-sponsored event with Edible Seattle where cyclists can ride from farm to farm, all skill levels welcome! Culminating is a big barbecue… For more details:

Olympic Peninsula Fiber Farm Tour

BOTH Saturday and Sunday, September 14th and 15th
SIX farm families in Jefferson County are opening their barn gates! You can visit their plants and animals and browse through their “farm fresh” fiber products and natural dye plants.

If you are a spinner or knitter, we encourage you to bring your projects and spend some time enjoying the atmosphere while doing what you love most.

For everyone, there will be spinning and weaving demonstrations and lots of wonderful wool products for sale.

Visit all six farms and receive a free raffle ticket for a chance to win a beautiful gift basket filled with wonderful items donated by the farms on the tour and their vendors.
